Our Team:

The first thing we would like our users to know is that we are not a well-funded, corporately sponsored website – just a couple small town guys with a big idea: to create a social networking calendar for local communities across the country.

The idea spawned from living in small towns, and it didn’t take long for us to realize a simple concept; people live local, not global. Everyone talks about Globalization and the “World Wide” Web, but truthfully, people live local and we want to help them do that!

Think of TownSync as an attempt to localize the Internet, but keep in mind, the site will be nothing without a network of users in your town. Spread the word and help build your town’s website!

The Concept:

TownSync spawned from a few simple questions that we could not answer: where (on the web) can you a) communicate with friends and meet neighbors, b) create pages for groups or organizations in order to set up meetings and manage a schedule, c) visit a calendar that shows you what’s going on this week, and who’s attending. We decided to answer these questions, add a few extra features, and keep it free for everyone.

TownSync is a site for locals, built by locals – Businesses, people, and organizations can all create pages to communicate with friends nearby, browse and post events/sales on a town calendar, download coupons offered by local businesses and participate in a community site totally built by locals – plus it’s free!

We realize that people are looking for ways to connect online as well as in person. However, some of the more popular social networks ignore the fundamental principle of Townsync: people live local, not global. We want you to connect with the people you have lunch with and the businesses you visit to shop, eat or share a drink. Therefore, we created this site for communities across the United States.

Among other things on TownSync, members can:

• Create pages for themselves as well as their business
• Create Groups and invite locals to join
• Manage a personal calendar and browse your community calendar
• Create and Sync events with friends, family, businesses and neighbors
• Create Classifieds and announce them to the entire community

Although there’s an easy way to search other towns on TownSync, we’ve made an effort to keep everything at a local level. Want to find out what Tom’s schedule looks like for next week? Want a place for your local book club to meet and talk online? Want to promote your business to everyone in your area? These are the reasons to join TownSync!
